Dear Students: The Chinese symbol for the word crisis is composed of two characters that mean danger and opportunity. I think this describes the world we live in today--a world of dangerous opportunity. We face many problems in our human relations, economy, technology, and conservation of natural resources. In each there are pitfalls for the weak and unprepared, yet in each there is a challenge for strong and dedicated young people to mold a better world in which to live. If you will apply yourself and take every advantage offered by your education you will be prepared to open the door when opportunity knocks. Best wishes and good luck. A. W. Gordon 4 A A. W. Here faces will ever remain fixed in eternity. Look long and deep. Remember them. Appreciate them. Wish them well. They have added to your life. But do not linger, for this book is not really the truth. Time does not stand still, and you have too many wonderful places to go and too many great things to do to be delayed long by the faces of the past. Just remember them. Appreciate them. DEDICATION JAMES SKARDA Four years ago in 1965, the Class of ’69 entered the hallowed halls of CHS as new freshmen. Along with them came someone else to whom Chilton High was unfamiliar. This person did not come as a student but as a Guidance Counselor. Even though he too was in new and different surroundings with all their complications, he seemed to push his own problems aside and talk on the burdens of all these new students plus the others who were then in school. Each year since, he has helped all students, new and old, to overcome the problems they have faced. And so, to you Mr. Skarda, the entire student body of Chilton High School, wishes to dedicate the 1969 TIGERETTE. Mr. Skarda graduated from the Kendall High School at Kendall, Wisconsin. He received his Bachelor's Degree at W.S.U. LaCrosse and his Master's Degree at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He also did graduate work at Marquette University, the University of Louisville, and Holy Family College.
