We will always remember the happy hours we spent here. Also, fresh in our minds are the valuable experiences we had here, the many new friends we made, and the help given us by the teachers of Chilton High School. These things will always be remembered. 'Dedication To you Mr. Augsberger, we dedicate this edition of the TIGGRETTE in appreciation for the many things you have done for us, the student body of Chifton High. You were always around whenever a problem needed to be solved or advice was sought. Your classes were always interesting and helpful as well as well taught. The annual staff especially wishes to thank you for your fine leadership and helpful advice which you were always willing to give. This TIGERETTO we then proudly dedicate to you, Mr. Augsberger, as a small token of Thanks' for the interest you have shown in us. Administration Henry David Thoreau, who is recognized as one of America's greatest minds, wrote that it was his ambition to affect the quality of the day. There is something valuable and inspiring in that ambition--to affect the quality of the day, to make it a better day, to make it a happier day for everyone who knows it. In these grim times of international tensions it is a worthy goal, a necessary goal if mankind is to build a world of peace and justice. It is our hope that during your four years in Chilton High School we may have developed the basic skills and learning, the motivation and desire to build yourself into a person who will affect the quality of the day. Congratulations and good luck, £ A A. W. Gordon Benjamin Franklin once said, Experience keeps a dear school, but fools will learn in no other. ” Every year there are students who drop out of high school because they feel they know a short cut to success. They do not realize that the school of experience is going to demand greater sacrifices on their part than attending regular school ever did. Education is an excellent investment. Economic studies have been made which repeatedly show that the average individual’s lifetime earnings greatly increase with advances in their education. The best way to insure future greatness is to increase the educational opportunities for citizens. The countries which are making the greatest progress are those which are making the most rapid educational progress. To keep our country great, we must continue to be a leader in the field of public education. It is the hope of all faculty members that students will successfully continue their education to the most suitable level for their abilities. Congratulations, E. J. Senior Mistorij In September of 1958, these very school doors were opened to 86 green freshmen. We were those green freshmen! Even though we were shy and hesitant at first, we soon made ourselves right at home and started to participate in extra-curricular activities. A few short weeks after school started, class officers were elected. They were: Harold Geiser, president; Ervin Selk, vice-president; Alice Buechel, secretary; and Alice Daun, treasurer. Second semester brought new class officers with the following results: Emil Everix, president; Timothy Huber, vice-president; Jerry Horst, secretary; and John Thielmann, treasurtsr. We entered our Sophomore year more confident and sure of ourselves. Our first semester officers were: Steve Thurwachter, president; Tim Huber, vice-president. Sharon Urban, secretary; and Ervin Selk. treasurer. The second semester brought new officers along with the Sweetheart Hop. The officers were: Mary Jane Lodes, president; Kathy Fox. vice-president; Betty Wunrowt secretary; and Alice Daun, treasurer. The Sweetheart Hop took place in February of 1960. John Thielmann and Mary Jane Lodes reigned as king and queen. Upperclassmen at last! In September of 1960 we began our third wonderful year at Chilton High School. First we elected officers. The people chosen were: Emil Everix, president; Mary Beth Kruse, vice-president; Sharon Urban, secretary; and Fosie Geiser, treasurer. Second semester rolled around with elections of class officers near and the Prom coming. Ervin Selk was elected president which also made him Prom King. Our Prom Paris in Springtime was presented on May 5, 1961. The king and queen were Ervin Selk and Betty Wunrow. The Prom, with the help of our advisors. Miss Haskey and Mr. Pautz was a big success. Then in September of 1961. the class was back for the final year. The officers elected were: Kathy Fox, president; John Thielmann, vice-president; Ruth Lorenz, secretary; and Mary Jane McHugh, treasurer. Tim Huber and Mary Jane McHugh were elected flag raisers for the class. Football season started with John Thielmann and Harold Geiser elected as co-captains of the team. In the midst of the season we held our Homecoming on October 20, 1961. We had one of the best parades ever and we won first prize for our float We Octa Pus Them Out . During half time at the game Kathy Fox was crowned queen. Herbie Schneider provided the entertainment for the dance, the theme of which was Wheels . Wednesday night, June 6, finally came, and after receiving the hard earned diplomas, the class of '6 bids a fond farewell to their Alma Mater, Chilton High School. - 26 - {juniors J. Barany B.
