The B Team was defeated only once out of three games. .They beat Rosebud at Rosebud the night of Feb. 1, by the score of Z3 to ll. Next they played Lott and lost by the score of 18 to 45. Playing their last game on Feb. 6, they won by the score of 21 to 18 against Rosebud. Main Team Clara Johnson--F Freddie Kilgore--F Mary Dee Stanley--F Mary Martin--G .To Neely--G Barbara Guynes--G Subs. Ima Faye Allen--G Pauline Crosby--G Betty Greger--G Clara Edna Duty--F .Tenna Thrasher--F Betty Goelzer--F Louise Day--F District awards were received by: Barbara Lupe Gonzalas--G Guynes and Freddie Kilgore. At the Rosebud Shirley Lewallen--F tournament, Mary Stanley was given a gold Claudine Maines--G basketball. Jean Perkins---G TENNIS TEAM OF 1950 The CHS girls' tennis team for 1950. It consists of: senior singles, Freddie Kilgoreg senior doubles, Barbara Guynes and .To Neelyg junior singles, Betty Goelzer. The tennis team last year won in the regional play and went to the semifinals at Dallas.

GIRLS BASKETBALL by- THE BENCH REPORTER, BETTY GREGER The Pirate's girls basketball team started off well. First we traveled to Troy to play the Troy B team. We beat 40 to 33. This was on Decem- ber 8, 1949. They returned the game, the Troy A team and beat us in our own gym, by the score of 35 to 28. That was on December 13, 1949. On .Tanuary 3, we played Bruceville-Eddy there and beat 48 to 29. Next Bruceville-Eddy came here, the game ended with the Chilton Team ahead by the score of 33 to 17. This was on January 10. Jan. 24, we met Mid-way here and won by the tune of 43 to 36. Ian. 25, we played our first game in the tournament at Rosebud. It was with Rogers. They passed us with a final score of 34 to 26. That of course was our 2nd loss. We started our county contest by going to Lott. On Jan. 27. We downed the Lions with a score of Z8 to 20. Our next game was again in the tourna- ment in Rosebud. Our game came off the morning of Jan. 28, we played Lott and beat them with the total of 28 to 17. The night of Ian. 28, we played Acadmey and beat them also, the last reading was 39 to 25. Jan. 30, found us at Hewitt, where we played Mid-way a return game. We lost that game with a score of 40 to 30. Feb. 1, we played our second county game with Rosebud, but we came out losers with the score standing at 34 to 30. Feb. 2, we played Lott and stumbled across to a victory with the score board telling us that we beat by a 27 to 26 margin after trailing 11-22 at half-time. Feb. 6, we beat Rosebud for county winners, by the score of 27 to 21. Feb. 15, the tournament for district champions opened at Rogers. We played Elgin and beat 32 to 18. They were the winners of Bastrop County. Sharp and Chilton tangled up on Feb. 17 and Chilton beat with the score of 26 to 22. Sharp was the winner of 42 to 24 in Rogers favor. This loss ended our basketball season for 1949-1950. Trophies of this year are as follows: lst Place for Falls County winners Consolation at the tournament in Rosebud. 2nd Place in the District finals.

The graduates from this team wish to all the players of next years' team GOOD LUCK, GREAT SUCCESS, AND A LOT OF VICTOI-HES. Our Captain this year is Clara Johnson, our loyal pitcher. Here is a note about the Freshmen team of 1950. They organized themselves late in the season, but they did good for themselves. They came out second in Jun- ior Hi baseball at the meet. While our girls were in shorthand she gave us her support. The picture to the left is of our captain and our softball sponsor. We wish to thank Mrs. Dic key for all she did for us this year.
