deff E From the field of play, by Bill Roberts The Chilton Pirate basketball team of 1949-50 won 16 games and lost 5. They went to the District play off and played Calvert in the finals and were defeated by two points. The Pirate lineup consisted of Bubba Guynes, Forward, Woodson Bray, Center, Ronald Goelzer, Forward, Bill Roberts, Guard, and James Chandler, Guard. Three of these boys graduate this year but here's hoping that the boys next year will have a winning team. We all can say the boys did good even though we didn't get any pictures of them in action. lr- f f The Chilton track team of 1949 is shaping up real well and they are going to do everything in their power to win when they enter the district meet. The Pirates have entries in every event and these consist of weight men, High jump, Pole vault, Relay and Sprint men. Some of these boys are back from last year's team and they will try to keep in shape and help win the meet, These boys have worked hard and have their hearts set on winning in everything they have come out in. The boys are coached by Wayne Cor- nelius. We hope all of these boys real good luck as the Annual goes to press. The boys are also entering softball teams in the meet. No one knows who will play where as yet, but Chilton we know will do good. Lets go boys.
