Live long and prosper. says Scott McNish. The class of '77 , mixed emotions. Appreciation In the midst of the excitement and fears of graduation many of us have forgotten to show our appreciation to th people who have made this moment possible . . . Espe cially, we owe thanks to our parents for the love an patience they have shown us in the past eighteen years . . for the tears . . . and for the guidance . . . Now the tim has arrived for them to love us enough to shove us from thei laps, let go of our hands, be deaf to our pleas . . . and le us stand alone - accepting us as we are, and appreciatin what we may become. This year, Student Council again sponsored the Homecoming Assembly, dance, and bonfire. Along with being responsible for all after game dances, Student Council put on the Sadie Hawkins dance and sold dai- sies the day of Sadie Hawkins. Student Council organizes all school assem- blies and is responsible for ushering each class to and from the auditorium. Besides bake sales, dances, and car washes, the big money-making project again this year was selling luminarios at Christmas time. A lot of hard work and spare time were contributed by students so that lawns and driveways all over town would once again glow on Christmas Eve . Student Council also took care of little problems around the school such as keeping the hedges trimmed in the student parking lot, patrolling the stu- dent parking lot, getting enough chairs put in the cafeteria, and making sure cookies were sold during senior study hall. Along with getting the juke box installed in the cafeteria, this year's Student Council added something new: a fruit juice machine. Student Council sent 315.00 a month to a needy child overseas and gave out two 3250.00 scholarships to deserving Seniors. 104 Officers: Bobbie Benson, secretary: Nancy Stover, treasurer: Kathy Adkins, vice president: Jeff Corzine, president.
