By the use of this theme we will try to give a word picture of our 55-56 year here at C.H.S.. u year in which the many students have done many' things which they will long remember. The 1956 arrow On Vocational Guidance Day in the auditorium Mr. Thornton is talk- ing to a group ol' students who are interested ni music as a vocation. Suzie Quinn and Bob Evans doing some fancy jitterbugging at a Friday night basketball dance. these are some of the man thin Class work is not all that takes place at C. H. We have many extra activities to occupy our spare time. Although our school work is the main reason lor being in C. H. S.. we must admit we welcome the interscholastic ball games and the other sports. the aftergame dances. the newly formed Student Council. the class parties. the Seniors Vocational Guidance Day. and. of course. the Prom and Graduation Day. lt seems. as each event passes. another activity is being planned. and we can look forward to it. Yes. xx hen you come to think about it. there are a lot of things that happen around C. H. S. It certainly is nice when all the students catch the spark of school lite and join in all these fun-filled activities. We shall remember the sound ot the reels rolling as The Effect of Steel On American Economy marches across the moxie screen in economics class. We shall glimpse the windows ot the manual arts building glowing from the sparks of the welding torches inside. Will we excr look at a picture ol the Versaillies or of the pyramids without remenilvcring thc first time we saw them on a history hulletin hoard? As we look back over those four years. there are so many mem- ories that come into mind. our first class party and being a part of the busy atmosphere of CHS. There are many things that we remember about our first three years. but the year that will remain foreyer among our treasured memories is our Senior year. So many things took place that year. assemblies. pep rallies. Vocational Guidance Day. the excitement of having a Stu- dent Council. planning the Senior Nlemorial. and the Senior Class Party. We will never forget how proud we were to be the first graduating Class at C.H.S. to wear caps and gowns. Then came our solemn baccalaureate. and May 31 graduation night. Graduation brought with it the realization that our days at C'.H.S. were over. But we all realize that no matter how far we journey or what things we may accomplish in the future. the Class of 1956 will foreyer remem- ber Chillicothe High School as a glorious and wonderful opportunity. Some will remem- ber the frien.Iy atmosphere in room IU2 after school and the crowded halls between classes. The graduating football players will never forget their basketball game with the male faculty or their gorgeous cheerleaders. Did anyone recognize the disguised seniors on Hobo Day ? The tearful Mary Lee VVilson Marcia Wingo john Wiseman Mary VVOod Dorothy Wright eyes of the senior band members marching through the hourglass will never be forgotten. The plentiful supply of library permits and also those pretty blue slips are now things of the past. May all the seniors be successful in their future endeavors.
