gamma JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS Presudent Tom Long Vnce Presudent Jane Buckel Secretary Peggy Acord Treasurer Ed Bunstune As the symbol Lubra was attaunung uts full power over the actuons of the students of C H S the class of 1950 ussued a summons for all members un good standung to meet un order to elect theur class offucers They showed theur good uudgment when they elected Tom Long as presudent of theur ullustruous class Jane Buckel vuce presudent Peggy Acord secretary and Ed Bunstune as treasurer The outstandung socual event offered by thus class was theur presentatuon of theur class play The Fughtung Luttles on December 3 1948 Wuth a talented cast of fufteen thus play was durected by Mr Charles R Duncan and receuved due prause The Junuors were an actuve group thus year For unstance several members of the clas played on the football team At the close of the season Tom Long and Merrull Hunes were elected co captauns for next season Then too the boys went all out for basketball baseball golf tennus and track Whule only three uunuor boys Tom Long Ed Bunstune and Tennent Hoey played varsuty basketball other lunuors formed the Jay Vee team coached by Mr Don Gatchell Charles Frey was manager for the Jay Vees whule Skeeter Francus was varsity manager A uunuor gurl Pattu Schwart won prauses for her help as a member of the cheerleader team The three uunuor members of the Homecomung Queen s Court were Sally Macbeth Duane Hark er and Charlotte Taylor Charlotte was accompanust for the Gurls Chorus and auded Lous Jean Laymon un accompanyung for the Glee Club Eught members of thus class enloyed as an extra currucular subuect theur work on the Mound Buulder staff whule two lunuors worked on the Arrow staff Other extra subuects un whuch these students were actuve uncluded band orchestra dramatucs chour glee club chorus and ensemble all of whuch performed un the Annual Revue or Sprung Concert Several lunuors were also mem bers of the swung band whuch played at untermussuons of basketball games The orchestra sup plued musuc for the class plays the Sprung Concert and the Revue The Buology Club revuved thus year by Mr Paul Hydell due to the uncreased unterest un that sublect was proud to have several members from the Junuor class on uts roll These students were actuve In Y M C A work also The lunuor representatuves on the Student House Commuttee were Lous Laymon Alan Batteuger and Joan McHugh the last servung as sec retary of the organuzatuon The Junuor Hu Y under the Ieadershup of John Motes presudent and Mr Paul Shank advusor conducted several paper scrap metal druves un preparatuon of a proposed trup the followung summer They eagerly looked forward to theur trup to Washungton D C after theur senuor year The Junuor Tru Hu Y was led thus year by Lous Smuth Presudent and Muss Agnes Drummer ad vusor They too were actuve un Y work and contrubuted generously to the World Youth Fund Whule one can easuly revuew the past actuons of thus class wuth prude one can only hope that the future holds more excutung events for them to encounter durung theur next years ff , ,.'7 X u 4 X , I E ' ' WMM 1? M0464 Presrdent Vuce Presudent Secretary Treasurer The Class of T951 accounts for Itself dolly around the halls of Chullncothe Hugh School Thus class whuch has a membershnp f two hundred ftfty sux elected as nts leaders Buzz Cockerell presudent Ronnne Benson vlce president Janet Hlxon secretary and Mark Muller treasurer These capable offucers formed the delegation of the Sophomore Class In the Actlvlty Club ln GCTIVITISS lt was well represented lt boasted twenty two members In the band snxty members nn the orchestra fifteen un the mnxed chonr and twenty elght an the glee clubs combined Also eight of the ten gurls nn the freshman sophomore ensemble were sophomores and eleven of the forty mem bers of the Biology Club were sophnes These second year students worked on top gobs In many fields For example Jean ette Mead and Marilyn Moore were leaders on the cheering squad whsle Jackue Kunstel was one of the seven malorettes Jack Dlehl and Dave Tyler were the only Sophomores to wan C s for varsnty football Earnung Cs for reserve play were Ronme Benson Johnny Fnfe Scotty Gruesheumer Bob Russell and George Tudor When basketball season rolled around Tom Bryant Ronnue Cousnns and Scotty Gruesheumer plugged along on the varsnty llne whsle Bob Ander son Ronnle Benson Richard Brown and Buzz Cockerell were outstanding on the reserves We can well be proud of these fellows they are probable stars of tomorrow SOPHOMORE CLASS OFFICERS Buzz Cockerell Ronme Benson Janet Huxon Mark Muller Representung these busy students of the second year on the Mound Bunlder staff were Annamae Grogan Jane Morris and Buzz Cockerell Mary Aluce Jones Mary Ellen Petrne Elnzabeth Ruley and Gusty Hall were wruters for the Arrow staff In spnte of these actnvmes all found tlme to study for a few were on the honor roll each ttme some twenty were on at least one tume These future graduates have passed the halfway mark and will press on to higher goals and success We can truly be proud of this class and will not be surprised when nts members receuve much hngher honor nn l95ll , 1 0 1 1 ' ' 1 - 1 1 I 1 1 1 ' 1 1 I - 1 - 1 1 - I ' 1 I . 1 ' . - 1 I .. - 11 - ll . , ' I ,,,,, ,Y - 11 1 11 - - 11 1 11 .
