We received the usual welcome by the upper classmen and after a very impressive initiation by the sophomores we felt at home as memfbers of the C. H. S. We have been very unfortunate in losing memlbers as our present en- rollment is now six girls and five boys. Our Sophomore year was rather uneventfulg a party was held at the home of OW-en anfd Irma Grace Fisher's after which we att-ended a theater party at Peru. On May 6, 19.316, we were deeply grieved by the death of Lester Schrader. who had been a ntemlber of our class for sieverasl years. He is not dead, the boy of our affection, But gone unto that school Where he no longer needs our poor protection And Christ him-self doth rule. Moving into our Junior year we found mu-ch more work to accomplish. We held a .Halloween party at the Stoner fa-nm, purchased class rings, and gave a class play entitled Dotty and Daffy. IS-ome of the Juniors were in the cast of the High School play, Cheerio, My Deerio , and the Operetta. -- Kathryn Long PAGE 25 S C s Q wfb Z V9 Q as pf ?? 9 v fff-as p -s , l l X

Since then we have had two new corners, which makes the total enrollment twenty-three at the present tirme. Our 'boys have done splendid work oI1 the basket ball teafm and we are proud of them. T'he girls have been active in athletics also- The year has passed swiftly, and the interesting way in which our teachers have conducted our classes has done much to make it so. We are hoping that all of our years turn out to be as pleasant. - Em-ogene Kotterman PAGE 27 it . 'QA kg? 50 X0 n 91 ge, El , 4 1 ll
