Track Meet I i I I Coached by Mrs. Judy U. Lewis, the Girls ' Track team won their District Meet over Rich Valley and Holston. At the Smyth County meet, the girls came in second and the t ' ollow ' ing County Records were broken: Cheryl Ridge and Teresa Romans — Shot; Cecily Thompson — High Jump; and Carol Polk — 100. At the Regional Meet at Christiansburg High School, Cheryl Ridge, Cecily Thompson, Susan Vance and Anna Stamper won the privilege of representing C.H.S. at the State Meet. Susan Vance was the only one of the four who placed at State—winning fifth place in the Mile. Susan was selected Most Dedicated. Cecily Thompson was chosen Most Valuable.
