After dropping their opening game by a score of 40-39, the J,V, team compiled an overall season ' s record of 14- 3, The team defeated the Saltville J,V, team 45-35 for the Hogoheegee District Championship, The Warrior team was led throughout the season by Larry Jennings who tallied 167 points, Anthony Shazier scored 149, Zac Caldwell scored 146 points, and Scott Foster scored 105. Tony Legard led the J.V. team in rebounds with 122. He also scored the most points in a game — scoring 24. His game point average with 10.6. Scott Foster led in the assists category with 28. Mr. Ron Ball coached the J.V. team. 19

Coached by Mr. Dickie Greer, who was Coach of the Year in the Hogoheegee District, the Warriors captured the regular season District Championship, the District Tournament Championship and the Smyth County Tournament Championship. All District Players were John Jennings, Greg Smith and Charles Tucker. Jennings led the team with rebounds. Charles Tucker, who brought his career record to 1,000 points, led with Most Recoveries, Most Field Goals, Best Point Average and Most Points. Greg Smith led in number of turnovers.
