Various Activities Occur At Homecoming The 1973-74 Homecoming was celebrated Friday, Oct- er 19, at Chilhowie High School. It began the week efore when the classes began building their floats. At o’clock Friday evening the floats were displayed along ' ith the Bands of Independence and Chilhowie in the lomecoming Parade. Winning Floats were announced t half-time. The Senior float nlaced first (onnosite page) with “Hickory Dickory Victory”; the Junior float (bottom left) placed second with “Whale of a Victory”; and the Sophomore float placed third with “Rip ’Em Up” (upper right). The Freshman Class and the Future Farmers of America also had floats. A brownie bash and sock hop followed the game. Pictured above is the float prepared by the Future Farmers of America. Pictured at the top of this page is the Freshman class float.

Junior Class Tries Their Hand At Acting A man, his wife, and a family of twelve chil¬ dren? All of these characters were involved when the Junior Class presented the play, “Cheaper By The Dozen”, to the public on December 19 in the school auditorium. The play was very successful with its comical view of a family of twelve children who have an efficiency engineer for a father. The play was directed by Mrs. Jean Hamm and Mrs. Char¬ lotte S. Sutherland. Bebbie Clark was student director. Cast members shown below right are Doug Rowland, FJaine Sturgill, Perry Skeen, Kathy Heath, Kerry Donnelly, Ronnie Lindsey, Debbie Dixon, Kathy Sturgill, Kendall Johnson, and Angela King.
