Mrs. Pansy Rollins helps Aundry Blevins and Ronnie Olinger prepare the French calendar. Students at CHS became associated with the fine arts in music, band, drama, and French classes. A general music class gave students the opportunity to learn more about the basic terms and fundamentals involved in music. Band members were encouraged to use their talents on an individual basis as well as with a group. A new class, drama, proved to be very ac¬ tive both on and off the stage. The class pre¬ sented two one-act plays: “Along Came Harriet,” (at left) given as an assembly for the student body, and “Fog on the Valley,” given at the District one-act play festival at Rich Valley High School, where it received an Excellent rating. The class made use of their talents by serving as the make-up com¬ mittee for the Junior play. French classes were designed to acquaint students with the language of France through a study of grammar, composition, and speech. The new French III class dealt mainly with translation and composition. 23
