time for the Junior-Senior Prom. Hol- ston Hills Country Club was the scene of this event, which everyone enjoyed. The club was beautifully decorated in Japanese style, andeach guest received an attractive Japanese favor. Then the following week, to bid our upperclass- men farewell and to show them how much we had enjoyed their friendship, we treated them to a hayride at Hungry Mother State Park. 1958: Finally came our Senior year, the year that we had once looked forward to but now entered reluctantly. We were granted the privilege of being the first Seniors to enter the new high school building. We have enjoyed every minute Gene Autry Blevins very skillfully decorates the chalk boards in several classrooms at Christmas time. BRENDA JOYCE LOVEKN F. H. I school did win the sportsmanship award. I 1957: Still progressing toward our goal, we entered our Junior Year. We were finally upperclassmen! We really worked hard selling shoe polish and fountain pens to raise money for a social I in the spring. At Christmas we promoted I a goodwill campaign by helping needy families in the community. With Anna Sue Blevins as president we continued ! to progress educationally and financi- ■ ally. Our presentation of the Junior j Play, A F amily Crisis was very I successful. We made, we feel, a last- ing contribution to our school by select- ing a standard Senior class ring design, I consisting of the Virginia state emblem and a warrior ' s head. Then came spring. Sonny Martin and Norma Dinkins per- form an experiment in Chemistry class while Bobbie Blevins reads the direc- tions. MARY LEE JACKSON P hodie F. H.
