Pattie Goodman and Nancie Warren look at the SIP A trophy they accepted on behalf of the 1957 CHILiVALEE Staff at the annual meeting of the Southern Interscholastic Press A ssociation at W ashington and Lee University, Lexington, Virginia. At this meeting, attended by more than one thousand high school delegates from eleven southern states and the District of Columbia, critical ratings were given school publica- tions. The winning entries in each of the six yearbook groups were given either First Place, Honor, or Achievement Awards, with only one of the First Place Award winners receiving the coveted SIPA trophy for being best in its division. We are proud THE CHILVALEE received this honor and hope that with this encourage- ment we shall continue to progress and make each yearbook better than the last. . . . Mickey Doyle, Jimmy Thomas, and Tom Freeman improve handwork skills in a shop class.
