! Zflings Zo Come You must tell Miss Copenhaver that one of her former students, Kenneth Thomas is playing the part as Romeo in Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet’’ at the Barter Theater. Charlotte Gillespie and Vivian Blankenbeckler are now head nurses at the Abingdon Hospital. As I look deeper into my crystal ball, I see a beautifully designed window in Macy’s Department Store. Wonder who could have designed it-none other than Helen Davenport. I see that Jean Sheets is still with the Piggly Wiggly. She is head of the Grocery Department. General Porter Heath is in Germany training former classmates Charles Evans, Jackie Stuart, and Jackson Powers. Who is this 1 see at Chilhowie High School teaching Agriculture? Could it be-why, of course, it’s Carl Hopkins, who has taken Mr. Farmer’s place. It looks as if Gipsie Buchanan has taken all of her interests to Rich Valley now. Who’s this with such a good suntan? Why, it’s Shirley Jo Tucker. She owns a coffee plantation in Bra¬ zil . Well, well, what have we here? Its Nancy Jones. She has her own model agency in New York,and Sue Heath and Kitty Sue Rice are modeling for her. Why, I didn’t know Eva Pierce could dance! She must have kept all of her dancing talent hidden in high school. She has teamed up with Dan Dailey now. Here’s Elmer Blevins, a successful lawyer , with his client, Arlene Johnson, studying grounds for her divorce. Elmer’s secretary, Nancy Greer, is inter rupting by saying, “Clyde Minnick is here to make his last will and testament. ’’ Who’s this I see in my crystal ball? Why, its Jackson Freeman. He’s a veterinarian and has his own animal hospital. His nurse is Martha Heath. Here we have our champion bowler, Betty Ann Jones. Ann Heath and Mary Alice Haga have taken Mrs. Rosenbaum’s place in C.H.S. Cafeteria. Itsagood thing that Peggy Stanberry and Carolene Smith took Home Economics when they were in High School because they need it in their new homes. What ' sthat cracking my crystal ball! Goodness, its Betty Dillow. She has taken Margaret Truman’s place in the Metropolitan Opera House. “Thank you, Madame Zambi. This has been most interesting and informative. ’’

Predictions Of YEAR: 1963 SCENE: Madame Zambi’s consulting room. ‘C ome right in and let Madame Zambi tell you what you wish to know. Won ' t you sit down and tell me what is on your mind?” ‘‘My wish is to have you look into your crystal ball and tell me where all of my pals of the class of 1953 are now. ” “Well, first I see in my crystal ball a football coach at Notre Dame. Ah yes, it is Bill Lewis. He is married and raising a football team of his own. As I gaze farther in, I see an ad in the “New York Times.” Wanted: A position as LAP secretary. Phone or write Lula Grey Thomas, South 2364, New York, N. Y. Well, I see that Bobbie Jean Wilmore finally got what she wanted. She is now a star on Broadway. Nancy Wolfe liked college life so well that she decided to stay at Radford College and teach business there. Well, what have we here? Harold Davenport is drawing comic strips for the ‘‘Roanoke Times. ” Here’s Haller Copenhaver. He has taken Rev. Phillippi’s place at Chilhowie Methodist Church. I see that Margaret Berry and Vivian Bland are still skating. They have become a skating team called the ‘‘Falliteers ” and are on tour in Europe. Bobby Goodman is now a Senator for Virginia. Here‘s Bill Wagner and Archie Sturgill. They have taken over all of the Cities Service Stations in South¬ west Virginia. Fred Martin is still a farmer. He has his own farm now with several little Juniors running around to help him. What’s this! A Lonely Hearts Club operated by Ann Donnelly and Florence Palmer. Here, I see, we have the first All-American girl basketball player, Jean McClure. Do my eyes deceive me, or is this-yes-it’s Sue Christian. She is now “Miss Universe.” Here’s Carol McKinnon. She has her own dress factory in Paris now. What’s this I see? The Stork Club has a new manager now, Betty Blevins. Her guest for tonight is Page Mullin, who has taken Tony Curtis’ place in stardom. Johnny Grinstead is campaign manager for Willis Blessing, who has been nominated for president.
