Some candles are lit throughout these years to heconie hrighter as their senior year approaches The class of 1969 can remember its sophomore year with pride and a sense of belonging. The success of all our activities depended upon the help of all the members of the sophomore class, as well as that of the upperclassmen. Our goals were reached only through hard vvork on the part of our advisor, the class ofhcers and the students who helped in the sophomore activities. The sophomore sports teams and the sophomores involved in clubs and other school activities worked hard to prove that vve as sophomores could carry our share of the load. As sophomores we learned what school spirit is, and what it takes to be a participating member of Chief Sealth. We helped make the year 1966-67 a better year for all the students at Chief Sealth. With the help of all the members of our class the next two years will be even better. The junior also assumes more responsibility while working toward successes one at a time, progressing up the ladder to the senior year and graduation. This year began with a junior Newsletter, a very successful under- taking, and one which set a precedent for others to follow. Next came the junior Pep Assembly, followed closely by the Cheering Chalice. On December 17, the Christmas Ball was held, and will be remembered as one of the most successful junior Dances ever held at Chief Sealth. In the spring, shortly before election sign-ups, the junior Class spon- sored a Spring Leadership Conference to encourage juniors and sopho- mores to run for office. Besides helping with the usual Senior activities, such as Commencement, our year was topped off by another unique event: for the first time juniors alone planned all the decorations and refreshments for the Senior Prom. Many thanks and congratulations to our advisor, lVlr. McNamara, the newsletter staff, the committee heads, and all the committee members who helped make our junior year memorable. We came from .rbadowx of the nzlglazg through the mzlfty grqf of emfbl morning to face the run. Mike Hall President Bruce Hanson Mrs. Taylor Advisor Carolyn Carlson Vice-President Secretary Treasurer 48 Filled with pride and a sense of determination, the Class of '67 emerged as a successful class. The Seniors started the year off with a determination to be successful, and thus vvon the Cheering Chalice. Through hard work, the football team of '67 brought Chief Sealth its first clear-cut divisional title. Next in their accomplishments, the Seniors gained possession of the Spirit Barrel. The Spring brought a Hurry of unforgettable events, among which the highlight of all was the Prom, held at the D.A.P1. House. We now look back upon our high school years, its joys and successes, its sorrows and frustrations. Many memories will long be imbedded within us. This class will be remembered for its academic achievements and contributions to all parts of school activity. The season record, two wins, three losses and one tie, was not indicative of their ability since many of the squad members played on the Varsityteam. The Sophomore Team worked with the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams this year. This gave them much experience and a better chance to develop into a good football unit. Several players showed outstanding ability and will be helping the Varsity next year. The Sophomore record was three wins, three losses and one tie.
