It is with deep regret that we leave our school after having spent twelve colorful years here. As we look back on grade school, then Junior High and finally Senior High, we remember many events that will forever remain in our memories. Study, along with Yearbook, Class Play, Band, Chorus, Student Council, School Newspaper, and other extra-curricular activities, provided a year of hustle and bustle for the busy Seniors. The Shakespearean Class Play was one of the biggest events of the Senior Class. Thanks to Mrs. Steele, Mr. Masemore, and Mr. Lash, the play was a big success and everyone hated to see the curtain fall. Yearbook meetings took up a lor of time but it was worth it, wasn't it, staff? We shall not soon forget the Washington Class Trip. Such events as Forensics, the Football Queen Dance, the Snow Queen Dance, the Christmas Dance, and last but not least, the Prom, also added to our many activities. As the time of graduation approaches, we prepare to enter a new life. We can only wish for a future as interesting, colorful, and challenging as our past! Mrs. Rodgers, Director of the Choral Department has selected pieces of music with which the chorus worlcs dili- gently to prepare for presenta- tion at the Spring Concert. This annual concert is attended by many and everyone enjoys the delightful music. Other activities that the choral people can participate in are: Concert Choir, District and County Choruses and Ensem- bles. The Chorus excluding the Senior members, also sings mu- sical selections for the Bacca- laureate Service and the Com- mencement Exercises of the Senior Class. The full band sisting of 97 members has the task of providing festive half time music and activities at football COD' games. Another an- nual event is the Christmas program, at which the band gives a good account- ing of itself. Many hours are spent in practice for the spring concert. This program is made up of various types of band music and could be classed as the climax to a year well spent. Mr. Check, our capable director, has been with us for five years and has had the pleasure to send many members t0 County, District, and State Band. Flutes: S. Miller, J. St ' lc Miller, B. C. These young mu- sicians, under the able direction of Mr. Scott, work hard to up- hold our school's fine reputa- tion in music. A big event in the lives of these band members, musically speaking, is the Spring Con- cert. Long before spring every- one starts to practice and does his best to prepare for this im- portant affair. Among the other activities of the Junior Band' are various parades during the Fall. During Pennsylvania Week the band combined efforts with our Senior Band to display its fine musical talent at a Varsity football game. Color Guards: K. Deamer, H, Murphey, D. Lewis, S. The mischief makers of fairylancl. On December 13, 1958, the play was presented to a matinee audience and an enthusiastic evening audience. The use of Elizabethan costumes and stage props made the play more authentic since it was originally staged during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The background music, both on record and piano, was that of Felix Mendelsohn who wrote it especially for this classic. Extensive lighting effects, managed by Mr. Stark Lash and Mr. Bruce Davis, added a professional touch to the production. W' 15 I 4 4' Cast: S. Kauffman, A. Haines, G. Bell, L. Fitzgerald, J. Although the actual cast included only eight students, many of our class- mates participated in behind-the-scene activities. Many worked on advertising, make-up, scenery, and various other jobs which were necessary for the success of the play.
