A Jufwofz HISTORY X The regular' opening of the school session in September of .-.959 by ought with it a bright and ambitious group of boys and girls into Chicota Higl School from Belk, McDaniel, Yolmgs Academy, and Arthur City This Freshmen Class became the first to enter Chioota High School S1126 it had becom fully aocredited., They were ambitious and Ind good intentionsg although nnny in the class were timid and self conscious Some Freshmen were unable to find the proper class rooms ani had much difficulty 1n arranging schedules,-, Af+er making nnny re-Q-adjustments the class became one of the best in High School and had many outstanding students. Johnnie Clyde Brooks received the Scholarship Meda' during the Freshmen year During the Sophomore year Post Oak and Garretts Bluff Schools were added to the Sophomore Classo The Sophomore Class was the largest class in High School during this term Orville Hightower won the Sr hvlarship award as a Sophomoreo The Juniors had 58 enrolled at the beginning of the term 19 L92 nine of which have ithdrbawn We have students from Arthur Cir 9 Belkg Garretts B'uff9 Post Oak and Forest Chapel Schools class play entitled Dotty do Daffy The following students were featured in the play Neva Jo Gentry, lhxine Goff Johnnie Clyde Brooks, Marcellaus Sipes, Billy 2.11, James Lynch Charles H Love, M1 tin Armstrong, Narvell lLGee9 Bertie BQ Windle, Phara Arneyg and Robbie Jo McEwin, The Junior Class entertained the Seniors with a picnic to climax our social activities for the years We have enjoyed a very successful school years, and we are :raking p ans for nexf year a+ which time we feel sure that we sha 1 be apable of filling the shoes of the present senior 0 Narvell McGee f C9 ff an X X.. 1 ..
