PARENTS WEEKEND Parents weekend this year was October 30, 31, and November 1. There was a pretty good turnout considering a last minute date change. Barbara Bucher was just one of the students whose parents came up for the weekend. “I think it’s good having it at the beginning of the year so they know what you’re talking about the rest of the year,” Barbara Bucher said, “But we didn’t do many of the planned activities except for meeting the teachers and they loved that.” Some of the activities planned were a reception at Dr. Wireman’s house, a Halloween costume party, and NBA basketball game meeting the teachers in the academic Quad, and chapel service Sunday Morning. “Parents weekend was really cool because I hadn’t seen my parents in so long. I especially enjoyed Queens’ well structured schedule,” Erika Carlson said. One highlight of the parents coming to visit Queens was getting to meet their daughters' friends. “I’m glad my parents had a chance to meet my friends’ parents. We went out to eat at Nakato’s with my sorority big sister’s parents. That was so much fun.” Laura Eberhardt said. Overall, it was an awesome weekend.
