Its origins are in a legend passed down from Queens Col- lege at Oxford. Many years ago, a student there saved his life by choking a wild boar with a book. Queens College in Charlotte has created its own formal adaptation of the legend, complete with the presentation of the Boar's Head. 92 93 MORA VIAN LOVE FEAST The Moravian Love Feast is a very special part of the Christmas Season. It is at this time that the student body and com- munity gather together to share in feasting and fellowship. The tradition carries with it a feeling of warmth and light through the burning of candles. This tradition is truly a love feast. YULE LOG The burning of the Yule Log is one of the warm- est of Queens’ Christmas traditions.. Students gath- er on the school grounds to make a wish on a holly sprig which is thrown into a roaring bonfire. The air is then filled with the sounds of Christmas as students sing carols around the fire. 95 WHO’S WHO IN AMERICAN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES Connie Allred llfcLtrnunci Kathy Jennings 4 f, i Ellen Patric Donna Volney Becky Rankin ftGRADERJjpl Who's Who is an honor in recognition of those seniors who have assumed active and responsible leadership at Queens College. 1976-77 DANA SCHOLARS Connie Dene Allred Anne Rita Alvarez Mary Louise Alvarez William Richard Arcilesi Sara Elizabeth Arnette Julie Bartlett Rhonda Gail Batchelor Mary Kate Belk Margaret Ellen Caldwell Celeste Ann Cone Marion Wright Cook Leila Diane Dudley Margaret Ann Dunlap Katherine Marcia Dunn Betty Jeanne Earley Susan Elizabeth Ellsworth Daphne Lee Eubank Robin Frances Fa ire loth Julia Sloan Fersner Teena Marie Finley Susan Louise Forester Martha Swann Goodman Martha Adams Groseclose Elizabeth Jane Hawfield Carolyn Janelle Hooper Elizabeth Anne Hooper Barbara Elizabeth Howie Susan Patricia Hr aba nek Carla Georgianne Jeffords Magolene Morton Jones Deborah Stock Kaper Becky Jill Langford Kimberly Anne Lyndon Ellen Gwen Patric Elenora Lei Phillips Deborah Yvonne Poindexter Janet M.
