I QUEENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION In the light of self-evaluation of purpose and need, OCA planned its activities this year according to three areas—wor- ship, study, and action. The attempt to provide worship opportunities has been a primary concern. The Christian Faith and Heritage Com- mission was responsible for several early morning worship services, dorm prayer meetings, and a Thanksgiving com- munion sendee. I he chapel programs were planned using different forms of worship. World Day of Prayer was ob- served and the pre-Christmas activities were concluded with a vesper program given by the Freshman Class. Students discussed their questions about worship during the Off- Campus Retreat in April. A study program was initiated in cabinet meetings, and campus study was begun in the Sunday Evening Forums. The QCA Library moved to the big one this year and pro- vided material for individual study and preparation for Christian Re-Emphasis Week and the Off-Campus Retreat. Study and worship stimulate action. A retreat for the freshmen during Orientation was OCA’s first event. The Social Responsibility Commission has provided outlets for response by sending girls to help at the Rehabilitation Cen- ter and at Bethlehem Center. I he World University Serv- ice campaign enabled students to express concern for refugee students in Algeria. Considering worship, study, and action, the cabinet chose “Christianity in an Age of Crisis’ as the theme of Christian Re-Emphasis Week. A series of chapel services led by Dr. James A. Jones of Union Theological Seminary in Rich- mond; discussion groups led by faculty members, guest speakers, and students; and a Communion Service led by the Rev. Stuart D. Currie; these were contributions to a signifi- cant week. Two issues of Emphasis provided added interest in the work of QCA on campus. Sue Ross, President Ruth Scholten, Vice-President; Patsy Arscott, Secretary; and Polly McClure, Claudia Johnson, and Betsy Thomson plan Beth Rivers, Treasurer, plan issue of Emphasis. chapel programs.
