 DAY STUDENT COUNCIL Hie primary purpose ol the Day Student Council is to regulate day student acti ities and to foster day student interests through cooperation with other student body organizations. 1 hroughout the year the council and the day students are active in all campus events. 1 his year the Council held an after-dinner coffee for all new stu dents and a Faculty Coffee honoring new faculty mem bers. I he freshly painted Blair Union was provided with new curtains, study desks, and kitchen equipment. Money was raised by the day students through an auction for the entire student body to enable the group to offer a two hundred dollar scholarship for the next academic year. In all activities, the Day Student Council seeks to foster in the day students a sense of responsibility and loyalty to the Queens College community. BOARDING STUDENT COUNCIL Ann Logan, Presideiit Boarding Student Government is based on the belief that the members of the college community desire for themselves growth in self-discipline and self-control in behavior. Its purpose is, therefore, to make the campus and the residence halls conducive to this growth and self-control. Its duties are to formulate and enforce Stu- dent Government regulations, to uphold the merit system, to act as a liaison between the boarding students and the administration, and to assist in planning Freshman Orientation Week. Seated are Peggy Jo Puckett, Elizabeth Sproul, Nancy Chap- man. Melissa Martin, Ann Logan, JoAnn Hill, Ann Bloodworth, Adelaide Anderson, and Penny Moffett. Standing are Sylvia McKenzie, Rebecca Price, and Harriet Brown.
