CO-ORDINATING COUNCIL Co-ordinating Council is the campus organization that is most representative of the students themselves. It is presided o er by the president of the Student Govern ment Association and includes the other three student government officers as well as the heads of all campus organizations and class presidents. Its purpose is to evalu ate activities of and make recommendations to the or ganizations represented. Co-ordinating Council seeks to co-ordinate and relate activ ities ol students, faculty, and administration. STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION Nancy Browning, President I he Student Government Association is the campus self-governing organization. It strives to maintain a spirit of cooperation among students as well as between the students and administration who are living and working together in the college community. I he Association seeks to blend the various tones of student opinion into a har- monious pattern of democratic living, emphasizing order- liness and thoughtfulness in the carrying out of its pur- pose. BOARDING STUDENT COUNCIL Ann Logan, Presideiit Boarding Student Government is based on the belief that the members of the college community desire for themselves growth in self-discipline and self-control in behavior. Its purpose is, therefore, to make the campus and the residence halls conducive to this growth and self-control. Its duties are to formulate and enforce Stu- dent Government regulations, to uphold the merit system, to act as a liaison between the boarding students and the administration, and to assist in planning Freshman Orientation Week. Seated are Peggy Jo Puckett, Elizabeth Sproul, Nancy Chap- man. Melissa Martin, Ann Logan, JoAnn Hill, Ann Bloodworth, Adelaide Anderson, and Penny Moffett.
