While one is an active supporter of The Frolics and an advisor of the chemistry team, the other is strongly involved with our future enterprise, the computer. Through their efforts, our missing pieces have been secured in place. Taking into consideration the preceeding thoughts, we dedicate Me- mini ’85 with proud admiration to Mr. George Kennedyand Miss Louise La- coste. Reflecting on our past four high school years, we’ve seen the pieces of our puzzle come together. P M But as we leave Chicopee Comprehensive, we’ve discovered more pieces missing . . . What will happen to us? Where will we go from here? What will we do? 117 Pondview Dr. Soccer 2-4, Stu. Coun. 3-4, P.P. Ftbl. 4, NHS, Jr. Prom Comm. One is required to make adjustments to new places, new things, and to new people. To a large degree one’s ultimate goal, happiness, is determined by how well these adjustments are made. Adjustment does not necessarily mean the adopting of every new idea and concept that appears on the scene. Rather, it means the ability to scrutinize and evaluate these new concepts and, more often than not, to reject them. Rejecting something which is popular or fashionable is extremely difficult; this is a true test of one’s character. Refusal to give up old concepts which you know have been tried and tested is often very difficult when society begins to demand that you do just that. How well you run this course of accepting new ideas and retaining old concepts will determine in the final analysis your real character and values. This will determine your happiness as a human being. William Coscore, Superintendent of Schools To the Members of the Class of 1985: I am honored to have the opportunity to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 1985. In the last four years, you have successfully completed one phase in a lifetime of learning. I hope that whatever you take with you will help you to meet the challenges and make the adjustments in the ever-changing world of your future. May I offer my best wishes for health, happiness, and success in all your endeavors. Herbert H. Curry Assistant Superintendent Herbert Curry. Asst. Superintendent William Coscore, Superintendent of Schools Carolyn Fitzgerald, Administrative Asst. c y Education was and must continue to be the backbone of our democratic government and of our economic growth. The myriad of negative, tumultuous incidents that we read, hear, or witness on a daily basis do have a definite impact on our daily lives. However, we must develop a sense of trust, understanding, and acceptance of people. We must teach tolerance and respect for people from within our community to the most remote parts of the world. We must stress positive ideals and attitudes. People should not allow any chemical substance foreign to their human physiological system to deliberately destroy their normal function. This danger is greater than the harnessing of atoms for destruction. Today we must be concerned about our youth because without them there will be no tomorrow. Upon graduation, continue to develop your mind and character through further education and continuous reading of books, magazines, etc. which will make you a more total, understanding person.
