1967, William E. Sittard began his career as music director for Chicopee Comprehensive High School. Throughout these sixteen years, he has devoted an immense amount of time, patience, and energy to help mold his students to grow musically, as well as morally. Each individual who is fortunate enough to come in contact with Mr. Sittard, either through band, chorus, or in any other capacity, knows what it is to have more than a student teacher relationship. He is a figure of respect and authority: consequently, he always has an open ear and or a comforting word of advice. With the guidance of a phenominal director, the C.C.H.S. band, representing our high school, has achieved such high honors as; Massachusetts Band of the Year; a participator in the Bicentennial ts Celebration in Allentown, Pennsylvania: an accumulation of trophies in Toronto, Canada; a succession of first place honors in the Quincy Christmas Parade, the Fall Foliage Parade, the Heritage Music Festival, the Salute to Israel Parade in New York City, and the Miss America Pagent Parade in Atlanta City, New Jersey. In closing, we would like to thank Mr. Sittard for providing our school, not only with a prestigious name, but also with entertainment and spirit which create a unified atmosphere in conjunction with school functions and activities. On behalf of the entire student body, the yearbook staff takes great pride and pleasure in dedicating Memini ’83 to Mr. William E. Sittard. • r
