8 Extra- Curricular activities also may set precedents for further study, hobbies, or even possible careers. Office aides may continue their work beyond secondary school; library aides may become profession- al librarians. Hobbies in photography, drama, or astronomy may continue and develop. The debate team, newspaper, and student council are educational experiences, providing insight and awareness. Athletics also play an important role in understanding teamwork and coop eration. The vocational section is, of course, a unique opportunity to acquire valuable techniques for job placement after high school. Permitting all students to partake in business classes. Comp provides the basis to learn useful skills in typing, bookkeeping, office machines, and shorthand. Telecommunications supplies photography background; independent studies allow students to participate in in-depth subject concentration and range. Work-study programs, music, computer math, art and home-economics — all present paramount chances to improve or discover abilities, occupational or general.
