Foreword To the growing students of a growing high school, the Senior Class presents the 1966 CHICOAN. Our school years are stages of growth and transition. The direction and form in which the individual grows greatly depends upon his high school. Through athletic, scholastic, and social activities, Chico d High is dedi- cated to developing the individual. Ever since enrollment in Chicod School we, as students, have been constantly developing. We have experienced growth in body, knowledge, character, responsibility, and wisdom. As we have grown so has our school. This year Chicod has not only enlarged its enrollment, faculty, and classroom facili- ties; but by this physical expansion our school has increased in its importance to its students and the surrounding com- munity. » P)

Dedication An energetic step, a quick wit, and a warm smile- -these are the trademarks of the teacher we honor. She is a rare individual, who not only dedicates herself to the teach- ing profession, but to her students as well. She encourages us to develope our talents and abilities to the fullest extent. Student prob- lems always receive her eager attention and prompt advice. Often, her lunch periods and recesses are devoted to make-up work. In ad- dition, as Advisor to the Annual Staff, she diligently dedicates her abilities to the pub- lication of our yearbook. With her determin- ation to use the time and knowledge God has given her for the benefit of others, it is not unusual to see her scurrying down the halls, busily conducting student-teacher conferences, or vigorously working at her desk. We, the Senior Class of Chicod High School, wish to express our sincere gratitude and respect for her unselfish devotion and leadership. In appreciation for the years she has spent in our service, we affectionately dedicate the 1966 issue of the CHICOAN to MRS. BARBARA SWAIN.
