Whatever happens in your future life will depend not only upon fate, but also upon your achievements in the past. I hope that your school years will not have been in vain and that you have accepted the educational and moral standards which I have tried so diligently to set before you. Your problems will be many in your adult life. Whatever they are, I hope that you will cope with them in such a manner that not only you but that all others will be proud of your efforts. I Want to thank the annual staff for their untiring efforts in making this yearbook possible. A final word to all ofyou with whom I have shared the joys, the heartaches, and the problems of childhood and teenage: I Wish you well throughout the years to come. Your friend, R , L, Huffman PRlNClPAL'S MESSAGE Another year of achievements, disappointments, heartaches, laughter, happiness and sometimes tears have been captured and bound together in this memory book by the Annual Staff. I congratulate them for ajob well done. Seniors remember this year, for it marks your beginning in a new way of life. Congratulations to each of you and may God guide you always. 525 Qilisd' ' Billy J. McKinnerney PRlNClPAL'S MESSAGE Dear Students and Faculty: We Appreciate the effort and patience that you have extended in preparing this good annual. This has been a rewarding year, even though there have been times that were trying on each of us. L Im V 1 f A -1 There is a lot more to cheerleading than everyone realizes. Preparing apep rally may seem easy, but try filling 30. min, with something to build spirit! The Cheerleaders have to keep the crowd interested and know how to handle them when they are rude. Most of their time is spent making posters, fixing lockers, or working on skits. There are times when nothing goes right, and they feel as though it is all for nothing. Then a compliment is added and they're ready to go again. Jpggliii B u l W ' ff lf To many people who do not or cannot play the game, football is just a sport played three months 'during the year. And when the season's over . . . well, that's all till next year, and it was fun while it lasted. But here at Chico, football is more than just a sport. lt's not just the three months it takes to play it, but the many months in preparation- weight-lifting and daily workouts everyday after school during football season. The real test of determination is proven by each boy's desire to start on his own under the hot August sun. INDIVIDUALS ' 5 III I.I1 ' Q4 k.k, .JH ,S 1. Where the west wind blows clean, across wide open spaces. And majestic pines and pecan trees grow green and lofty along rolling Texas hills. Texas. . . a good place to call home. And Texans are proud of it. TP8tL shares Texans' special pride in a natural environment. And the Company is working to preserve all the environmental assets possible while providing adequate electric service throughout the territory. Air monitoring devices have been installed at lignite-fired generating plants as an aid in air quality control. Also, these plants have been equipped with electrostatic precipitators, devices which will remove substantial amounts of particulate matter from stack emissions. These efforts will help keep Texas air pure and healthful. To help conserve the natural landscape in every way possible, substations are low-profile structures with underground distribution facilities, screen-type fences and extensive landscaping. Plant-site lakes are stocked with fish and opened to the public. An experimental catfish farm has been set up at the Trinidad generating plant. Texas Power 8t Light Company is pleased to work with Texans to preserve a treasured environment. lT'S A FACT: During the past twenty years, the costs ofmany materials and item ofequipmentpurchased by Texas Power 8.
