DECEMBER A Heaven On Earth was created by the Iunior Class When they hosted their first dance, the Iunior Prom. The general chairman was Cathy Christenson. The Christmas Assembly- a musical program by the Chico Senior High School Band and Choir. JANUARY The Polio Drive Assembly featuring guest speaker, Dr. Richard Campion. Tom Tisch was chairman of the assembly. The theme was Let's Help Chico Help Polio. Ioan Krajcirik was crowned at the half-time ceremony of the Chico-Bishop Arm- strong basketball game to reign over the season as Basketball Queen. Larry Be- ckman was Ioan's escort. A Coronation ball followed the game in honor of Queen Ioan and her attendants. The University of California Men's Choir Assembly. FEBRUARY The successful and highly entertaining Senior Assem- bly, The Ed Sullivan Show , highlighted by the announ- cement of the 1956-1957 Mr. and Miss Caduceus, Dave David and Iolyne DeNapoli. Ann Bockhop reigned as Sen- ior Sweetheart at the last dance hosted by the Class of '57, 'japanese Moon . Patriotic Assembly. Acker Tournament held in Redding through March 2.

The first football game of the season with Nevada Union. The climax to a very suc- cessful week - Fun Night , under the capable direction of Vice-president Rod An- derson. So hornores ut u osters P P P P prior to their class election. Sophomores held their first campaign assembly. The Caduceus Kick-Off As- sembly. OCTOBER Carol Ruedy was crowned at the half-time ceremony of the traditional Chico - Oro- ville game as the 1956-57 Football Queen. Carol's es- cort was Paul Forberg. Panther's Prowl, the dance hosted by the Future Home- makers of America, traditi- onally named The Twirp's Twirlv. Marvin La Branch reigned as Twirp King over the evenings festivities. NOVEMBER The Veteran's Day Assembly. Dr. Lou Oliver, Chico State College, was the speaker. The Senior Dinner - Dance was a huge success under the excellent chairmanship of Sharon O,Neill.
