Mary Ann Kerman, Gwen Vogler and Diane Langen, Because the dance was just before Christmas the appropriate theme of Silver Bells was chosen. The Junior Prom was a huge success, as was the class assembly, which was taken to Shasta High at Redding as an exchange assembly The program featured an around-the-world theme which was cleverly brought through a movie scout who was looking for talent and found it only when he returned to his native state, California. lim I: IJ. Of the 17 members on the staff, everyone is given a chance to try his hand at writing copy or acting as page editor, as statf positions are rotated at mid-term. Such departments as news. feature, sports. advertitsing. exchange, general reporting and typing are open for the students' choice. It is indeed fortunate to be on such a publications staff. as the news of the school is filtered through its channels, and the stimulating activities always keep the workers on their toes. Every Wednesday the culmination of the week's efforts is proudly put on sale in Room 105. Several times during the year six-page editions are put out to commemorate special occasions such as Christmas, Saint Pat's Day and student elections. The last issue of the year is the big Senior Edition, which features the senior wills and horoscopes and covers all senior activities. lPil'4'1'llIlL1 the- un'l1vr:il ll4'XYSIHlIN'l'lll! The tradition of a secret theme and dedication must also be upheld. The Caduceus staff of l95-1-55 took the problem well in hand. worked it over and has submitted this finished product. which is worthy of commendation. Comprised of four veteran journalists. lO new seniors and three new juniors, the well- balanced staff worked many long hours to com- plete the book you are now reading. The team, under the guidance of Skip McDonald, won two out of its first four games. The pitching staff was in pretty bad shape until young Bobby Jones was switched to pitching chores. Bob played the outfield and inheld when he was not on the mound. Jim Westlake also doubled as a catcher and pitcher. Others on the pitching staff were Fireballer Leonard Anderson, Don Griflith and John Lucchesi who did some chucking too. Bud Westlake played first base and Jim Lampman backed him up At second it was Tom Parr and Ray Cress while John Dille was the shortstop John Lucchesi Bob Jones and Jim Brush shared the third base spot Backing up Jim Westlake as catcher IS sophomore Joe Cursey Playing in the outfield are Laverne Severud Clvde Davidson Bill Burke Elton Andrews and Jim Bennett Utility men are Bucky Jones John Powell and Ron F1ckle The JV s coached by Wayne Boulding also had a fair season Many returns from last year s junior varsity as well as some sophomores made up the Junior varsity for this year 1 - 1 1 I 1 1 . 1 . , . . 1 1 - , - . . . . . . 1 1 - ap., f m., I z 214 f .R 'ff X 2 2 I --1, FW W, an Q Q Y .
