BAILEY CUMMING KILPATRIC MILLER BATHAM HESS PENTIFO VAUGHN FISH WESTLAKE BENNETT IIFT END This position was held down all year very successfully and without dispute by Captain Clarence Pentico As a reward for his great playing Pentico was chosen on the Sacramento all opponent eleven and on the Woodland all opponent eleven In addition to these eompliments Coach Bun Onyett of Oroville said Pentico is the best high school end I have ever seen in action IPI-T TACIeLh Timber Newhart started in this position but before the season was well under way he was declared ineligible and so l eland Hess former lirst string right tackle was shifted to this position as most of the other teams play that side of our line He held down his Job all the rest of the year LEFT GUARD John Cummings started at this position but while he was out with an injured hand Roland Batham gave such a good account of himself that he was allowed to keep the position for the rest of the year CYNIHR The team was blessed with two great centers this year Don IVlil Ier the greater of the two got the call all of the time that he was not injured He was chosen on the Woodland all opponent team with this remark from the XVoodland coach I m glad he won t be back next year J he other center Cecil RIFHT GUARD Pug lxilpatrie got Hrst eall for this position throughout the entire season Pug not only played guard but called the signals and was called occasionally into the back Held He was chosen on the Sacramento all opponent eleven and was given honorable mention on the Woodland all opponent team RICH! nl At M I Ihis position was never st lrted by the same man two Sat urdays in a row John Cummings Jaek Lounts and Cecil Read when he wasn t playing center all vied for this position RIGH1' END bd Bailey was in command of this position all year and gave such a good account of himself that he was elected captain for the next year BLOCMNG HALXIS The team was blessed with four very good blocking halves Vaughn and Smith on the right and lrzzy Westlake and Johnny Barker on the left Irzzy was elected co captain with Bailey FULLBACK Dale Wadlmgton started at fullback and showed a lot of prom ise but he was declared ineligible along with Nevshart Bob ladmiston and Steve Fish took ox er the duties playing equal time RLNNINC, BAClx In this all important position Roy Bennett starred all year as a triple threat back and it was his superb kicking that saved many a hard close game IDQI 4?
