The student governing body by which the students voice their opinions is the Student Council. This organization, sponsored by Mr. Claude Welch, is com- posed of representatives of each organization, class, and a president, vice-presi- dent, and secretary-treasurer elected by the student body. lts aim is to promote a better understanding between students and faculty and to encourage student participation in all school events. It renders service to the school by sponsoring student safety lanes, homecoming activities, and school elections. The Chickasha Board of Education is composed of five local businessmen. Each of these men, successful in his own field, spends endless hours to make the school system an excellent one. To this group, the students of Chickasha High School are deeply indebted. Three members of the high school administration who work closely with the board are Mr. Vernon Cook, clerk, Mr. Claude Welch, vice-principal and counselor for students, and Miss Mary Ash, registrar.
