After four consecutive years of winning the state marching contest, which emphasizes precision marching and intricate drill design, the 1956 marching band gave its entire time and effort to the production of gridiron half-time shows. Marching band shows this year were based on some appropriate theme carried out in a unique and colorful manner. Among the shows presented were a salute to the coaches, vacation pastimes, television commercials and a hillbilly hit parade.
