The students are carrying on in the out' standing tradition of engineering that has heen developed at the Palace. Rohert Pape, Thomas Crinnnons and lens Klecka are in the process of examining a gear used in some industrial machinery. The class is concentrating on the design of an intricate piece ol' inachinerx' which has proh- ahly helped somewhere along the line to hettcr our standard of living. J: UQ' uni' Maintaining pace with the progress of indus- dry has been one of the outstanding traditions of the Palace, These two pages give evidence that the Palace considers the adaptation of new ideas and new processes in indusuv to be an integral part of the development of our curric- ulum. Plastics shop is an example of the effort on the part of CYS to fulfill the growing demands of new industry for competent technicians. Ule consider this course to he one of the most modern offered in anv school in the country. This new industry in the short space of its existence has opened manv uses for new pro ducts and new materials. In addition to securing excellent positions in a new and growing industrv, many graduates decide to continue their education and event uallv find occupation in the fields of engineer ing and research. One of the pictures shows Dave Schneider. Rav XVestherg, and 'lack Soder putting the finishing touches on several products which will he useful as well as decorative. ln the other photograph hlichael Kachinslq' .ind Richard Hamilton are preparing some of the hasic materials that are used in these pro ducts for the initial process of manufacture.
