It was felt that an im- provement could be af- fected if the publication of the newspaper were made the work of a club which met during regular. weekly activity periods. The members of the new Journalism Club were students constantly on the lookout for a seoop . Due to the in- adequate amount of time which weekly meetings provided, there was al- ways a frantic scramble before a deadlineg and all too often. deadlines be- came eonfusinely flexible ' W , , Next. in the checkered career of our school publication. was its in- corporation into the English T class of 19-19. This elective course now found itself with the added function of writing. cuttine, and pasting for the Academocrat. The students worked hard. but their efforts were crowned with interested readers. who were constantly clamoring for the next issue. We can assuredly say that the Academocrat came of age when a new course. Journalism. was added to our curriculum. This course con- cerns itself solely with the study of journalistic writing and the pub- lication of the Academocrat.
