In 'I953 several students, having proposed such an organization, appointed a committee to draw up a constitution and by-Iavvs lor the organization, Those who served on the committee vvere M. I-Iolovvell, I-I. I-lorticl4, Forbes, and G. I-levvitt. In November ol that year, the constitution was accepted by a unanimous vote. The charter membership consisted ol IQ members. The purpose ol the club is to emphasize the importance ol ethical standards ol practice and to Iceep in contact with the Michigan Qptometric Association.
