S3 Wlieatoii I7 This year our heavyweight basketball team started the season out with a bang, winning with good scores the first five games they played. Throughout the season the team showed spirits of real ability. However, the only-too-well known enemy of all basketball teams, over conjidznre, crept in among our players and became a little too influential for the welfare of the team. Although the team did not make out quite so well in league competition as did last year7s team, the spectators of all games witnessed some clever team work which was always accompanied by good spirit. Besides winning their first five games of the season, the team made an excellent showing against Parker and won two out of three games played with the Chicago Christian College. Upon taking up the work of representing our school in the athletic Held, this year's heavyweights found themselves under the able coaching of Charles Tho- masma. This was Coach Thomasma's first year with the heavyweights. His experience will undoubtedly manifest itself next year. THlR'1Y ONE

Those league games which they did lose, were lost by close scores. The squad was under the able direction of Coach Thomasma, as were last year's lightweights. Witnesses ofthe games played by the lightweight 'ltivew were often amazed by the smooth-passing of the team. They believed that framework was the secret of the success of all basketeers. CHEER LEADERS .Nlthough no photograph of our vivacious Cheer- leaders is here printed, they are entitled to our heartiest congratulations. The gay triangle com- posed of glean Riddering, Aletha Vanden Bosch, and Ralph Prime, have done more than their share in supporting our teams and spurring them on to victory.
