'- As an Ensign, our Executive Officer served his first tour of duty as Main Propulsion Assistant and later Damage Control Assistant and Chief Engi- neer aboard USS BARRY KDDLQBQJ from 1959 to 1962. After two years of staff duty, thens Lieutenant Trossbach earned his BSEE Degree in Ordi- nance Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Cali- fornia. In 1966 flier began a two-year tour aboard USS HENRY B. WILSON KDDG-7j,'as'Weapons Officer. After a three-year tour of duty in Washington, D.C. working on various weapons-related projects QAEGIS, NATO Sea Sparrow and Farpoonj, then- LCDR Trossbaciz returned to sea as Executive Officer of USS MAI-IAN KDLG-11j.
