This has been a good year at Cheyenne School Despite expel imental changes necessitated by a growing student body and the loss of our beloved Dr Shaw we still have managed to keep the old and to add new and valuable activities to our program The Christmas activities were once again filled with ing out into the community for the enjoyment of all Our athletic teams, although not so consistently in the winning columns as in previous years learned through ex perience and from the loyal support of the student body that the spirit makes the game and the ultimate goal is fair play and a humble pride in a Job well done The scholastic record of the school has again been the hmh lig t of the year Many of our semors have been ac ceptedin the top colleges of the country, some on scholastic scholarships and aids The student council is to be com mended for its fine Job in scheduling this program And EDITORIAL Itis the sincere hope of The Junior Class that The Pow- Wow of 1952 will serve as a record of all that the seniors have worked and strived to create throughout their past years at Cheyenne Mountain School. lt can be seen, looking into the past year, that the Seniors have fulfilled to their utmost the standards of Cheyenne Mountain School both tn scholarship and sportsmanship Not only in these ways but in many others have they made Cheyenne a bettei place for both faculty and students The Senior Class of 1952 has set a high goal for the students who will be following in their footsteps With these thoughts well in mind, The 1952 Pow Wow is dedicated to The Seniors most important our faculty has once again proven them selves worthy members of the Cheyenne family by keeping the well being of our students foremost in their minds, they have blended happiness and learning the key to the spirit of Cheyenne School Those of us who have been in the school during its rapid thing that has made the school an integral part of our being lt1s inevitable perhaps that with the ever growing numbers some of our most precious traditions will disappear We must not think of these as lost, for it is only natural that some activities fitting to a small school might not serve the same purpose in a larger school Some traditions must be altered and even changed, if we are to keep the school we know and love But always together as students, teachers and superintendent we must strive to keep the high spiritual and moral values that have always been synonymous with the name of Cheyenne School JOHN S CHAMNEY .
