At regular meetings the Board takes care of problems ranging from the con- struction of new buildings to the pur- chase of small items such as chalk, books. and red pencils for the teachers. Members of the Board are elected by the voters of the School District. Two members are elected each year for three year terms in order that there will also be men in office who are familiar with the many details in the operation of our schools. C. N. BLOOMFIELD E. T. National Forensic League The National Forensic League is the organiza- tion which recognizes the art of good speaking. The local chapter participates not only in debate, but panel discussions, all types of declainations, radio and after-dinner speaking. Membership qualifica- tion for the club is active participation in competitive forensics. This year's membership includes some of the best speakers of the Rocky Mountain Region. Under the sponsorship of Miss Margaret Rice. our members captured a large percentage of the honors in all of the contests entered. After partici- pating in practice debates at Longmont. Colorado. our speakers entered the Rocky Mountain Speech Conference at Denver and took the highest honors. The next important series for the debaters was a successful round of debates with Pueblo, Denver, and schools in the Colorado State Debating League. All speakers distinguished themselves the following day at the N. F. l.. District Conference at Boulder. The climatic contest of the year was held in Raw- lins where our speakers were recognized as being most outstanding in forensics in the state. The stu- dents of Cheyenne High School should well be proud of the honor brought to the school in the field of Forensics.
