THE SCHOOL DAZE On August 28, 1949, seventy-two boys and girls, called Freshmen, came into this school not sure of what was coming next. We were dazed by the time we got done filling out all the cards, climb- ing stairs and getting into wrong class rooms. In September, we held our first class meeting for the purpose of electing officers. We chose as our class colors, green cmd gold, our motto, Not Fin- ished, Iust Begun. Our class flower, yellow rose. Later on in the year we took a trip to Gettysburg. The following year we came back as Silly Sophomores, but were sad to see many of our classmates had left us. We had a skating party to obtain money towards our Senior trip to Washington. After a wonderful three months vacation, we came back as Iolly Iuniors. We then had a Hallowe'en Square Dance at Colvins Garage. We also pre- sented our class play, The Boarding House Reach, on Ianuary 16, 1952. We played host and hostess to the Seniors at the Ship Hotel, on April 15. 1952. Now as Seniors, we thirty-seven boys and girls are holding our last pleasures of school, by working on our yearbook and getting our pictures, announcements and name cards. We Won the ice cream party by having the highest percentage of all the class rooms during the magazine campaign. We had a chicken supper on February 25, 1953, also the last week in March we held our Senior class play. As the Lion goes to press We are looking forward to our Senior trip to Washington, D. C. Then comes baccalaureate on May 24, and commence- ment on May 26, after which we all will depart into the world. Seventeen
