SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We entered our Freshman year with ideas of being upper- elassmen at last. That year there were 28 of us. We gained Gerald and David Nauman, but lost Charlotte Heslep and Dorothy Hauger. We had very few parties because our class treasury was very low. Miss Marjorie Brands was our home room teacher. In September of 1945 there were twenty-nine members of the Sophomore class of Chesterville. That year we gained James Wertz, but lost Lela Randolph, Virginia T1ppett,Marlyn Craig, David Neuman and Ola Squires. That year we presented 'Dates, Incorporatedn for a Band Mother's Meeting. Mrs. Kendall directed this play. We also had a roller skating party at Mansfield. Mrs. Auker was our class advisor. Among the things you look forward to as you enter your junior year of school is the olay the class is to present, the rings, the memorable prom you are planning for the seniors, and too, all the money you must raise. During that year we gained Joan Ogle, Ethel Shipley, Gladys Erow and Jim Goff. We lost Gerald Nauman to Fredericktown. Mrs. Maybelle Burcaw was our advisor. Our class play, 'The Panther's Clawn, a mystery comedy, was a big success. Our prom decorations carried out the theme n of an 'Old Southern Garden. This year we gained Jean and Joan Clinage and Shirley Fitzwater and we lost Shirley Trowbridge. This leaves twenty- six seniors. On October 18, the Seniors and some of the teachers went to Montrose Studio in Columbus to have their pictures taken. Plans are being made for our trip to Washington D. C. We plan to leave on May twentieth. We also want to visit Gettysburg and other places of interest on the way. Our commencement exercises are scheduled for May nineteenth Dr. Roy C. Smith, editor of the Christian Advocate, will be our speaker. We look forward to what the future holds, but we can never forget the wonderful times we have had at Chester High.
