'Dedication We the Senior Class of 1962 wish to dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Hartness. We would like to express our thanks for the help he gave us on our Junior Prom, our Senior play, and our yearbook The Panther. We will always remember the fun we had on our Senior trip and all the help he has given us through our high-school years. The Senior Class 1962 MRS. LA FLURE MR. WENTWORTH We wish to express our appre- ciation to our advisor Mrs. LaFlure, and Mr. Wentworth for their assist- ance through our high school years and for their cooperation which made the production of this yearbook pos- sible. ADMINISTRATION The quality of mercy is not strained; It droppeth, as the gentle rain from heaven Upon the place beneath; it is twice bless'd — It blesseth him that gives, and him that takes. SHAKESPEARE Chestertown Central School Chestertown, N. Y. November 22, 1961 To the Seniors: Again many thanks to the Senior Class, the yearbook staff, and the sponsors for the effort which they have performed in compiling the 1962 The Panther. It is our sincere hope that you who are leaving us, and you who shall remain, will have nourished your hopes and dreams, we hope we have helped plant in you the desire to become the worthwhile citizens and leaders we know you are capable of being. My sincere wish to the Seniors is that as you reach the declining years of life that looking through the 1962 Panther” will bring to your memory lots of pleasant thoughts of Chestertown Central School during your school days. In the fall of our third year we gained Sandy Whipple. Later during the sixth grade we gained Frederick Monroe from West Glens Falls and Michael Cleveland from Chatham. In Junior High School came Judy O'Connor. We took a major step towards graduation in the eighth grade. Next came high school with the addition of Shirley Guidie from Minerva and Connie Clark from Warrensburg. We are now looking forward to Washington, D.C. and to our final step when we each go our separate ways. In high school we have many remembrances. Some of these were: The Junior Prom, class rings during the Junior Year, and The Senior Play - The Boarding House Reach. Senior During the twelfth year of school, November 17, 1961, we chose as our Senior Play, The Boarding House Reach. It was directed by Mrs. Magee, our English teacher. We all miss our rehearsals that were so much fun. We are very grateful to Mr. Bresnehan and Mr. Hartness who helped make our play possible. We will never forget Wilbur Maxwell’s life of confusion, when he made a boarding house out of his own home. He was in one mess after another. Our play was a great success and will always remain in our memories as each goes his separate way. junior Prom Our Junior Prom was held on Friday, May 19, 1961, in the school auditorium. The gym was decorated colorfully to the theme of Mardi Gras. Our music was by Chris Discenza and our theme song was Mardi Gras. Sally and Jimmy were chosen King and Queen. Memorial We the Senior Class of 1962 would like to dedicate this page in memory of Donna Jean Bentley. Donna was very active in chorus, band, cheer leading. Library Club, and The Hoofbeats, sponsored by the 4-H Club. We will always remember the energetic and enthusiastic way in which Donna applied herself to the many activities in which she participated. She will be fondly remembered by her classmates. Finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, Sermons in stones, and good in everything.
