Appreciation MR. AND MRS. JOHN HARTNESS Our yearbook would not be complete without a special word of thanks to Mr.Hart- ness for all the help and guidance he has given us as our homeroom advisor throughout our high school years. Not only as a teacher but as a friend, he has assisted us with our many activities, in particular, our memorable Junior Prom, our Senior Play, and, of course, our Yearbook. The many happy hours spent with Mr. and Mrs. Hartness on our Washington Trip and the warm feeling of welcome and friendship always extended to us at their home will surely bring back a smile, a chuckle, or a tear, in the years to come.

To The Seniors, I wish to express my sincere thanks to the Senior Class, the yearbook staff, and the sponsors for the diligent effort which they have performed in making the 1961 The Panther the tremen- dous success which it is. Seniors of this year's class will certainly find that future refer- ences to The Panther will bring back many memories that can only be accumulated in a manuscript of this type. To this year's graduating class goes my earnest wishes for a suc- cessful and gratifying future. 1 hope that each of you will realize the ambitions, dreams, and aspi- rations that you have worked so hard to develop as a student at Chestertown Central.
