MIDST STUDENT ELECTIONS After Dick Didelot's resigna- tion, the council elected Ray Crampton, acting vice president. The members also elected Pat Burnside to serve as secretary. Planned activities for the year included revising the student guide book, writing a book on student etiquette, and combined meetings with student councils from other schools. Ambitious campaign workers combine work and play while they paint pos- ters, make campaign buttons, and trY their hand at writing political speeches. Kal., Krieps will give you security promises one of the many posters for Dick Krieps, Among Dick's supporters were Pat Burnside and Tom Furst, his campaign managers. Dick Krieps won over Jo Ann Wallace in a class presidential race. Dick Didelot was victorious in the vice presidential race against Karin Miles.

1 This year the curtain went up on the 15th Annual Opportunity Night. Eighteen acts were trying tor the prizes. The prizes, awarded by an audience vote, were credited to the class treasuries. Acts are divided into three categories-comedy, solo, and serious. Each class in the high school and iunior high can enter three acts, Emcee's tor this year's show were Nancy Goodlin and Torn Furst. Rudy Van Loon, Karen Kieldsen, and JoAnn Wallace were assistants. The Quarter Notes from the iunior class were tops in the serious division at both performances. Second place at the evening pertorrnance went to the senior act, You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby. The Hi- Fives, freshman act, was second in the afternoon. Between acts Nancy Goodlin and Tom Furst exchanged quips and talked with the audience. The Hi-Fives, Jim Cassidy, Larry Roberts, Terry Oness, Teddy Ahrendt, and Arvid Teagarden, raised the root to win second prize. STU DEN
