Eight semesters of home economics are offered to the girls at Chesterton. The courses include more than just cooking and sewing. The freshman and sophomore classes study personal and social rela- tions, planning, preparing, and serving meals, cloth- ing for the high school pupil, planning the food needs of the family, health and home nursing, and care and guidance of children. The iunior and senior classes study home and social relations, housing the family, solving clothing problems, consumer buying, child welfare problems, and careers in home eco- nomics. This year Mrs. Winifred Weidman is in charge of the kitchen. Mrs. Weidman has taught at Chesterton for three years. This is the first year of teaching at C.H.S. for Miss Nancy Wean.
