SENIOR Hl-Y Driving through the year with a scrap drive, a clothing drive, and a candy sale C World's Finest Chocolate D the Senior Hi- Y made enough money to buy two television sets for the school. TV brought in outside events that couldn't be seen otherwise. Movies shown as part of the program at meetings, swimming at the Y in Valpo, and a spring dance were other activities. Mr. Joseph Koss and Mr. Cyral Turner sponsored the group of iunior and senior boys. Senior -Hi-Y officers: Tom Bush, Chaplain, Tom Lindquist, Sergeant' at-Arms, Ed Tilden, Treasurer, Jerry Billings, Vice President, Bob Hicks, President, Eldie Parker, Secretary.

Junior Hi-Y Officers: Jerry Meyne, Vice President, Bob Didelot, President, Rudy Van Loon, Secretary, Kerry Lytle, Treasurer, Jim Kozy, Sergeant-at-Arms. Junior Hi-Y, a branch of the YMCA, is a Christian organization made up of freshman and sophomore boys wishing to further high standards of Christian character. Sponsors, Mr. John Brunton and Mr. Elwood Mull, helped the boys in planning their calendar for the year. Activities in- cluded several trips to the Y swimming pool in Valpo, and the start of Junior Hi-Y bowling teams. Fireman, Save My Child, a one act melodrama, highlighted the year for Spotlighters. Composed ot freshmen and sophomores interested in acting, the budding talent met period- ically to discuss different phases of dramatics. Sponsored by Mr David Pogue and Mrs. Virginia Bateman, the hams were led by Allan Wie- del, president, Amanda Brown, vice president, Fritz Kilbourn, treasurer- and John Wilson sec- retary.
