Distributing Thanksgiving baskets to needy families, donating Christmas gifts to welfare, and sponsoring a Sadie Hawkins Dance, a tall formal, Stairway to the Stars, and an installation banquet kept Y-Teen of- ficers ancl members busy. Other activities were swimming parties, bake sales, and a candy sale. Any junior or senior girl could ioin this group sponsored by Miss Leona Burrus and Mr. Winifred Weidman. Potato chips galore chanted members of Junior Y-Teens as they conducted their potato chip sale in December. Under the guidance of their officers, the Y-Teens netted about S100 from the sale which was used for various worthy proiects. They were co-sponsors with Senior Y- Teens in giving Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas gifts for welfare, an installation banquet, and a Sadie Hawkins Dance. Mrs. Virginia Bateman, Mrs. Julia Kova- low, and Miss Betty Lou McKnight sponsored this freshman-sophomore group.

Junior Hi-Y Officers: Jerry Meyne, Vice President, Bob Didelot, President, Rudy Van Loon, Secretary, Kerry Lytle, Treasurer, Jim Kozy, Sergeant-at-Arms. Junior Hi-Y, a branch of the YMCA, is a Christian organization made up of freshman and sophomore boys wishing to further high standards of Christian character. Sponsors, Mr. John Brunton and Mr. Elwood Mull, helped the boys in planning their calendar for the year. Activities in- cluded several trips to the Y swimming pool in Valpo, and the start of Junior Hi-Y bowling teams.
