Qin 4,1 Page 2 DEDICATION E, 'FIIE VLASS OF 15131, dedicate this work to our beloved principal, whose efforts on our behalf will ever linger with us we think of his fairness and faithfulness through our high school days. l, am the Annual of 15131. l am the result of the best efforts of those who made me and whose inspiration 1 am. Progress, ever as a torch held on high, is my theme, chosen to remind you of our principal 's long period of service-over twenty-five years in C. H. S.- a, silver anniversary, which honors me most highly, and is a fitting theme to illustrate the finest and highest peak of effort and esteem an instructor can reach. V I, myself, am not to be compared with this man. It is my THEME that commemorates the way in which he has achieved. My theme also would point out progress and change in the school itself. Once long, long ago, this region was represented by a barren waste of wooded and sandy mother earth. Vast waves beat upon a crisp sandy beach. A red sun gleamed upon rugged waters-came inhabitants who built wigwams and cabins. They also built schools and churches. More and more came, the spirit of progress dominant among them. We are taught by the examples of those men. Our friend and teacher, Mr. Goldsborough, has been such a man. Mr. Goldsborough has piloted us skillfully .through our high school years. lt is also largely through his leadership that C. H. S. is now what it is. As you read the pages of this book, carry my thought in your mind. l am your Annual of 1931. r L G I 1 i
