Ship,s Staff At Your Service Many people must work together to run a large passenger liner like Nimitz. Co-ordinating the activities of its crew and its 2800 passengers is the Captain, Roger Caukin. A complement of assistant officers help him to keep the ship floating on smooth seas. Deputy Captain, Louise Gordon, is entrusted with the task of keeping it financially sound and well equipped with fuel and provisions for the year's voyage. New on board is Deputy Captain, Richard Mattingly who programs social activities and handles such vital matters as bus transportation to and from the Ship. Chief Officer Jack Roberts helps all passengers mind the social graces of good behavior during the cruise. He even arranges for transfers to other liners if the need arises. Edward Negrete, another new,Chief Officer, masterminds the curriculum scheduling for all passengers, being sure to see there is a balance between required and elective offerings during the voyage. t , 6 ,,., ,,.. i im, gy ,,,?
